- Why Visit: Puckett’s is a downtown favorite and one of my go-to spots for breakfast with friends. If you’ve never tried their skillet cinnamon roll, you’re missing out—it’s that good! For lunch or dinner, you can’t go wrong with their classic meat-and-three options. The cozy vibe and live music make Puckett’s the perfect spot to soak up the local flavor and enjoy a laid-back meal.
Jeff’s Family Friendly Restaurant
- Location: Tucked away off East Main Street
- Why Visit: Jeff’s is the hidden gem of downtown Murfreesboro! If you’re craving an authentic southern meat-and-three, this is the place to be. Their homestyle cooking hits the spot every time, and I can’t get enough of their four-layer cakes—they’re some of my all-time favorites!
TRAVELISTA TIP: Jeff’s doesn’t stay open late so if you are stopping in for a meal make sure you get there before 6pm. When my family first moved to downtown Murfreesboro, we enjoyed meals from Jeff’s once a week! It is my favorite meat and three in Murfreesboro!
Kleer-Vu Lunchroom
- Location: Situated a few blocks off the square
- Why Visit: Kleer-Vu is a family-run spot that’s all about serving up southern comfort food the old-fashioned way. This cafeteria-style restaurant is known for its homestyle classics, and if you stop by, you’ve got to try their famous BBQ chicken or ribs—they’re a local favorite!
The Boulevard Bar & Grille
- Location: Across the street from Middle TN State University campus
- Why Visit: The Boulevard Bar & Grille is a favorite for my family! Their menu has a little bit of everything—pizzas, Mexican dishes, burgers, sandwiches, and classic American favorites. It’s also the perfect spot to hang out on game day. Whether you’re rooting for the Blue Raiders or your favorite pro team, the laid-back, community vibe at The Boulevard makes it feel like you’re watching with a group of friends.

- Why Visit: Marina’s brings authentic Italian flavors right to the heart of Murfreesboro. With its cozy atmosphere and menu full of classic dishes, it’s a great choice for a romantic dinner or a meal with friends. Held on the first Monday of each month, it’s the perfect excuse to sip, mingle, and support a great cause all at the same time!
TRAVELISTA TIP: The Alley on Main has very limited weekend hours. They are open for dinner service on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. Make sure to plan your visit accordingly.

TRAVELISTA TIP: When visiting the Discovery Center, make sure to also spend some time enjoying Murfree Spring Wetlands. This 25 acre Murfreesboro city park sits adjacent to the Discovery Center.

Every Saturday morning, the Square turns into a lively hub of local goodness. The Farmers Market isn’t just the best spot for fresh produce—it’s also a great way to connect with the community. You’ll find everything from baked goods to handmade soaps, all sold by local vendors. It’s the perfect way to spend your morning and get to know your neighbors while supporting small businesses.
