If traditional camping is your thing, the Tent or Pop-Up Campsites are just right. These sites let you enjoy the great outdoors with a little Disney flair. You’ll get your own slice of wilderness with a sandy pad for setting up your tent or parking a pop-up camper.
Each site includes space for a pop-up camper or camper van and up to two tents. You’ll also have water, electric, and cable TV hookups. And don’t worry—there’s a nearby comfort station for showers and restrooms, so it’s not exactly roughing it.
The campsites have a concrete pad measuring up to 10 feet by 25 feet. They’re perfect for families, friends, or solo travelers looking to immerse themselves in nature.
Even though I’m more of an RV fan, if I ever tried tent camping, this would be the way to do it—Disney-style, of course!
Preferred Campsite
Want a little extra convenience? The Preferred Campsites have you covered. They include everything the Tent or Pop-Up Campsites offer but add a sewage hook-up for more comfort.
These sites are also in a prime location. You’ll be close to the Marina, dining options, and transportation hubs. It’s a short walk to the trading posts and all the action, making your stay even more enjoyable.
The Preferred Campsites accommodate an RV plus a small tent, with a concrete pad that’s up to 10 feet by 45 feet. It’s the best choice if you want a balance of outdoor adventure and modern convenience.
TIP: Personally, I love the convenience these sites offer – being close to everything makes the experience feel both adventurous and easy-going.
Premium Campsite
If you like a little extra space or need room for a larger RV, the Premium Campsite is the way to go. These sites are designed with serious campers in mind, offering a concrete pad up to 18 feet by 60 feet. That means plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the outdoors.
You’ll have all the standard hookups: water, electric, cable, and sewer. The paved pads make setup easy and provide a comfortable, accessible space to relax. Plus, these sites are perfectly placed to let you soak in all the natural beauty Fort Wilderness has to offer.
If I were planning to go all out on a camping trip, this would be my pick. It’s the perfect mix of wilderness charm and modern comfort.
TIP: When booking your Premium Campsite be sure to request one with proximity to Meadow Trading Post, Meadow Recreation Area, Bike Barn or the Campfire Area.
RV Rentals
Don’t have your own RV? No worries! You can still enjoy the RV camping experience at Fort Wilderness. Several local companies offer RV rentals that can be delivered and set up for you before you even arrive.
Renting an RV is a great way to enjoy all the comforts of home while being surrounded by Disney magic. It’s also perfect if you’re curious about RV camping but not ready to commit to buying one.
Decorating Your Campsite
One of my favorite things about staying at Fort Wilderness is decorating the campsite. Guests here take it to a whole new level, especially during the holidays. Walking through the campground feels like an adventure all on its own!

TIP: If you’re aiming to catch a specific show or reservation, give yourself plenty of time to navigate transportation and get through park security.

This dinner show has been a Disney favorite since the 1970s, and it’s still going strong. It’s fun for all ages and offers a dining experience unlike anything else at Disney. If you’ve been to dinner shows in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, like in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, this will feel like home—just with that Disney magic.
TIP: The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a part of the Disney Dining Plan, however, it requires 2 dining credits per person.
Trail’s End Restaurant
For something more low-key, head to Trail’s End Restaurant. After its 2023 makeover, it’s now a quick-service spot with a market-style setup. You can grab individual meals, family-style options, or even hot and cold grab-and-go items.
