These two parks may be side by side, but they each have their own unique vibe when it comes to size, history, attractions, entertainment, and even crowd levels. Understanding these differences will help you decide how to split your time and make the most of your Disneyland visit.
1. Size
One of the first things you’ll notice when comparing Disneyland and California Adventure is the difference in size.
The entire Disneyland Resort in California covers just 500 acres in the heart of Anaheim, packing in two theme parks, the Downtown Disney shopping district, and three on-site hotels.
Breaking it down:
- Disneyland Park: The original theme park, occupies about 100 acres.
- Disney California Adventure Park: The second theme park, covers approximately 57 acres.
- Downtown Disney District: The shopping, dining, and entertainment area, encompasses around 20 acres
