Character Dining
Now, let’s talk about one of my absolute favorite aspects of Magic Kingdom: character dining. It’s like having a meal with old friends, and the best part? Those friends happen to be beloved Disney characters. So, here are some enchanting dining experiences you won’t want to miss.
Cinderella’s Royal Table – Imagine dining inside the iconic Cinderella Castle itself. It’s a dream come true! Here, you’ll be treated like royalty and get to meet some of your favorite Disney princesses like Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, and more. I’ve been lucky enough to dine here several times, and let me tell you, it’s a treat every single time.
TRAVELISTA TIP: When making dining reservations for Cinderella’s Royal Table, be aware that you must prepay your meal at time of reservation!
Crystal Palace – Now, who wouldn’t want to share a meal with Winnie the Pooh and his pals? At The Crystal Palace, you can do just that. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this buffet-style dining spot in the heart of Main Street, U.S.A. is a delightful choice.
Be Our Guest – Dining at Be Our Guest Restaurant feels like stepping into the magical world of Beauty and the Beast. The grandeur of the Beast’s Castle is stunning, and the surprise visit from the Beast during dinner adds an extra touch of magic.
TRAVELISTA TIP: Be Our Guest is technically not considered a character dining restaurant. The Beast only appears during dinner service and he doesn’t sign autographs or take pictures with guests.
Stage Shows and Parades
Now, let’s shift our focus from dining to another unforgettable facet of Magic Kingdom: the stage shows and parades. These enchanting performances bring Disney characters to life in a way that’s bound to leave you in awe.
Imagine yourself on Main Street, U.S.A., with the majestic Cinderella Castle as your backdrop. It’s here that the “Festival of Fantasy Parade” comes to life. As colorful floats, lively music, and a host of Disney characters make their way down the street, you’ll be swept up in the magic of the moment. Each time I catch this parade, it feels like the first time. The creativity and attention to detail in the floats and costumes are simply breathtaking.
If you find yourself in front of Cinderella Castle, don’t miss “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire.” This stage show is a celebration of friendship starring beloved Disney characters, including Mickey and his pals. The performance is a heartwarming reminder of the power of unity and camaraderie. This show never fails to put a smile on my face. I love hearing the sounds of the Disney songs we all know so well floating through the park. The energy, the music, and the bonds between the characters make it a truly heartening experience.

Tips for Interacting with Disney Characters

Meeting Disney characters is a highlight of any visit to the parks. It’s like stepping into your favorite fairy tales and creating magical memories that last a lifetime. Here are five essential tips to help you make the most of your character encounters:
1. Use Lightning Lane to Avoid Long Lines
Disney’s Lightning Lane service allows you to reserve access to popular character meet and greets in advance. Take advantage of this convenient feature to minimize wait times and make the most of your park day.
2. Have Something for Them to Sign
Consider bringing an autograph book or special item for characters to sign. It’s a wonderful keepsake that adds a personal touch to your visit. Some fun items to consider include t-shirts, pillowcases, photo frame mats, and even Christmas ornaments. Let your imagination run wild!
TRAVELISTA TIP: We always use a clickable Sharpie for characters to use to sign. It is much easier for them to handle than a smaller pen with a cap.
3. Purchase Memory Maker
Memory Maker is a fantastic way to capture all your character interactions and other magical moments. With professional photos and ride photos included, it’s a worthwhile investment to document your Disney experience.
4. Know Your Characters
Research which characters you most want to meet, and familiarize yourself with their locations and schedules. Some characters may have longer lines, so plan accordingly.
5. Be Respectful of Character Performers
While meeting characters is exciting, always be respectful of the character performers. Follow any guidelines set by the cast members and respect their personal space. Remember, they’re there to create magic for you and other guests.
Frequently Asked Questions: Disney World Characters

As you embark on your Disney World adventure and plan your character encounters, you may have some burning questions. Don’t worry; you’re not alone! Here, I’ve compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about meeting Disney characters
Are There Characters at Disney Springs?
Disney Springs, the vibrant entertainment and shopping district at Walt Disney World Resort, offers a fantastic array of experiences, but character interactions aren’t typically on the menu there. Unlike the theme parks and resorts, Disney Springs doesn’t host traditional character meet and greets with Disney characters.
However, if you’re keen on meeting a character of a different kind, you can say hello to the Coca-Cola Polar Bear at the Coca-Cola Store.
While Disney characters may not make appearances at Disney Springs, there’s still plenty of magic to explore, from world-class dining to unique shopping, and even live entertainment. For those coveted Disney character encounters, you’ll want to head to the theme parks or Disney World resorts.
Are There Characters at Disney World Resorts?
Indeed, there are opportunities to meet Disney characters at select Disney World resorts! While not all resorts host character interactions, a few of the deluxe resorts offer character dining experiences. These delightful meals provide a chance to meet beloved Disney characters without leaving your resort.
Additionally, it’s not uncommon for Disney characters to make surprise appearances at various deluxe resorts, adding a sprinkle of magic to your stay. Keep your eyes peeled, as you might just encounter your favorite characters during an impromptu visit, creating memorable moments right at your hotel.
So, while not all resorts have character interactions, some can surprise you with a touch of Disney enchantment.
Do All Characters Sign Autographs?
The majority of Disney characters are more than happy to sign autographs, especially during character dining experiences, where it’s a cherished part of the interaction. However, there are a few characters who may not sign autographs due to costume limitations. For example, characters like Buzz Lightyear, whose outfits have restrictions, may not be able to accommodate autograph requests.
But here’s the good news: all characters are available for unforgettable photo opportunities! You can capture those magical moments with your favorite characters through photos, even if autographs aren’t an option. To ensure you have the best experience, simply follow the cues from the character attendants who are there to guide you during your interactions. They’ll let you know if autographs are on the table and ensure your encounter with Disney characters is nothing short of enchanting.
