Hey Y'all

BOWLING, LASER TAG, ARCADE GAMES, AND SURPRISINGLY GOOD FOOD… BUT DOES MAIN EVENT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE?

I’ve been to Main Event Murfreesboro several times now, and it continues to impress me.

It’s clean, colorful, and packed with things to do. There’s bowling, laser tag, a huge arcade, food, drinks, and more.

But what really stands out is how much fun it is for all ages.

So, is Main Event Murfreesboro worth a visit? Here’s what I’ve experienced and what you should know before you go.

My First Impression of Main Event Murfreesboro

The first thing that stands out about Main Event is how fresh and inviting it feels.

The entire space is bright, colorful, and surprisingly large. With all the arcade lights and activity, there’s plenty of energy without it feeling chaotic.

It also feels noticeably clean and well-maintained. I’ve visited other bowling alleys and arcades that feel a little dated or run down. Main Event has the opposite feel.

Even on my most recent visit on a Friday evening, it wasn’t overcrowded. Bowling lanes were still available, and we didn’t have to wait for laser tag or arcade games.

Overall, my first impression has been the same each time I’ve visited. It simply feels like a fun place to spend a few hours.

Bowling at Main Event

Bowling has been part of each birthday party I’ve attended at Main Event, and I really like the setup.

The bowling area sits slightly above the rest of the space. This makes it feel separate while still keeping you close to all the action.

There’s plenty of seating around the lanes, plus additional tables just behind them. This works especially well for larger groups when not everyone is bowling.

Main Event also offers food and drink service right at the lanes. Employees regularly checked on our group and took orders without us needing to leave the area.

We tried the fried mozzarella and fried pickles during our latest visit. Both were delicious and something I would order again. Even the presentation felt more elevated than typical bowling alley food.

There’s also a private bowling area with its own lanes and seating. It could be a fun option for groups wanting a little more space away from the main bowling area.

Laser Tag and the Arcade

After bowling, we headed to laser tag, which was a big hit with our group.

You can play individually or split into teams. If you choose teams, the vests and laser guns light up in different colors. This makes it easy to spot your teammates during the game.

The laser tag area was clean and well maintained. Our game lasted around eight to ten minutes, which felt like the perfect amount of time.

The arcade is another highlight. It’s huge, with everything from classic skee-ball to newer games and VR experiences.

One thing that really impressed me was that I didn’t notice a single game out of service. Everything we wanted to play was working.

Game credits are loaded onto a card, and each machine clearly shows how many credits it costs. You can also see your remaining balance after each game.

Best of all, unused credits stay on your card for another visit. My daughter still had credits left when we were ready to leave, so we simply saved them for next time.

With so many games to choose from, you could easily spend a good chunk of your visit in the arcade alone.

What Birthday Parties Are Like at Main Event

I’ve attended several birthday parties at Main Event, and this is one area where they seem especially organized.

Each party has an attendant who helps keep everything moving. They get the kids set up for bowling, handle drinks and food, and prepare the party table.

When it’s time for cake, the attendant helps with that too. At our latest party, she even added the candles and helped get everyone ready to sing.

Afterward, she cleared the table, boxed the leftover food, and helped organize the birthday gifts into fewer bags.

As a parent, I think this is one of the biggest perks. You can spend more time enjoying the party instead of worrying about setup, serving food, and cleanup.

I can’t speak to the cost or value of the different party packages. But from the guest side, the parties I’ve attended have felt organized, easy, and fun for the kids.

Main Event Isn’t Just for Kids

One thing I really like about Main Event is that it doesn’t feel like a place designed only for kids.

During our Friday evening visit, we saw young kids, teens, and adults all having fun. There were even several groups of adults there without children.

I can easily see Main Event working for a date night or night out with friends. You could bowl, play a few arcade games, grab dinner, or have a drink at the bar.

There’s a separate restaurant area with plenty of seating and large TVs. The food and drink menu also has enough variety to make it feel like more than an arcade snack bar.

That mix is part of what makes Main Event stand out to me. Families have plenty to do, but adults don’t have to simply tag along and watch the kids have all the fun.

Planning Your Trip

Main Event Murfreesboro is easy to find and has plenty of free parking. Once inside, the open layout also makes it easy to move between activities.

If bowling is a priority, you can reserve a lane ahead of time. I’d consider doing that for weekends or other busy times, especially if you’re visiting with a larger group.

You can check current hours, activity prices, and available reservations on the Main Event website before your visit.

Main Event also makes an easy addition to a Murfreesboro or Middle Tennessee trip. It’s especially helpful when you need an indoor activity or something the whole family can enjoy.

And if you’d rather have someone else handle the details of your trip, that’s where I can help.

As a travel advisor, I can take the planning burden off your shoulders and help create a trip that fits your family, interests, and travel style.
